Madison County will be applying to the Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA) for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding under the Residential Public Infrastructure Grant (RPIG) Program. Community Development Block Grants are federally-funded grants administered by the state. Madison County is eligible for up to $750,000 in RPIG funding, providing the county meets applicable requirements.
On February 8, 2022 Madison County conducted its first public hearing to inform citizens about Community Development Block Grants, how they may be used, what activities are eligible, and other important program requirements.
Based on both citizen input and local officials’ assessment of the needs of the county, Madison County is proposing to undertake the following CDBG activity under the RPIG Program.
Summerford Sanitary Sewer Project
A second public hearing will be held June 30th, 2022 at 7:00 PM at the Somerford Township Hall, 91 State Route 56 NW, Somerford, Ohio to give citizens an adequate opportunity to review and comment on Madison County’s proposed RPIG Program applications, including the proposed activity summarized above, before Madison County submits the application to the Ohio Department of Development.
Citizens are encouraged to attend this meeting on June 30th, 2022 at 7:00 PM to express their views and comment on Madison County’s proposed RPIG application.
